Positive! I have now tested positive for baby #2! We're around 6 weeks along, and I'll have my first midwife appointment next week, already. It's really amazing, a bit mind-blowing, and at the same time, 'normal' day-to-day living. It feels like our next child(ren??) are already with us in spirit, just awaiting being ready for the birthday. Of course, there's a number of months between now and then, and a lot of growing and prep to do, in the meantime. But, we're excited.
It worked out that I was off traveling a couple weeks ago when it was clear that I was late for my menses and got to tell my husband while we were chatting on the phone. He and my son got me flowers as a surprise - wow! - gift that I got to come home to. It was extra fun because G was grinning ear to ear when I got home from Chicago that day. Adorable!
If Easter were later this year (why doesn't the general Christian faith settle on a standard date like research has supported, already?!), we'd probably tell our families the exciting news in person at Easter like we did with #1. Now I have to figure out how to put baby items on my birthday wishlist without giving away the news before our first trimester is over! Hum.... Or maybe we'll go ahead and share the news and then I might possibly get a new pregnancy pillow or something as a present for my birthday near the end of next month. Oh, the possibilities...
And I admit, I've already updated our amazon.com baby registry from #1 three years ago (WOAH! It's been three years already!). Apparently, those baby registries never end!? I thought it would've gone away, at least within a year after the birthday like with wedding registries, but nope! It's still there. And really, we don't *need* anything, but it would be nice to have some newborn-sized cloth diaper covers and a diaper sprayer, which we didn't have before, and a few other niceties.
Here's hoping and praying I don't have any of the all-day-morning-sickness and sensitivities I had last time...
